Nicola Bell
Group Leader

Nicola is an EPSRC Open Fellow with over 10 years experience in synthetic inorganic chemistry. Outside of the lab Nicola is a film buff and mum of one.

Richard Drummond Turnbull

Richard
Postdoctoral Research Associate

Richard joins the group after having completed his PhD at the University of Manchester under Prof. Steve Liddle. At Glasgow Richard will be working on the automated synthesis of actinide imides and hydrides.

Marina
PhD Student

Marina is undertaking a PhD in high throughput air-sensitive chemistry after completing her degree in Chemistry with Chemical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.

Freya
PhD Student

Freya is undertaking a PhD in f-block metal clusters . She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Strathclyde and undertook her dissertation project in the Mulvey group.

Emanuele
MSc Final Year Student

Emanuele joins the group to work on high throughput organometallic chemistry. He has a background in Digital Chemistry after completing a placement year in the Cooper Group at Liverpool.

Previous Group Members

Chloe Dunsire
BSc(hons)

Chloe studied Amino-boranes and their catalytic reactivity as part of her final year project.

Eve
BSc(hons) Student

Eve is working in the Bell Group as part of her final year. She is developing new Zwitterionic ligands for encapsulating electropositive metals such as the Rare Earths.

Cameron Fraser
EPSRC Vacation Intern

Cameron is spending the summer with us during his vacation from a Computing Science degree. Cameron is working on developing the code for our automated systems and user interface.

Oliver
MSc Student

Oli is spending the summer in the Bell lab as part of his masters degree .

Oli is developing a new ligand family for the Bell group.

Cristina
Visiting Summer Student

Cristina is visiting Glasgow from Texas as part of the Arcadia program.

Cristina is pre-Med and is learning about how the lanthanides are used in medicine.
